How is the soap made?

We use the Cold Process method to make our soaps which means we make soap from scratch! This process involves combining fatty acids with a base, meaning oils/butters with lye. An exothermic chemical reaction takes place when these are combined which results in soap and glycerin. Glycerin is a humectant, which means it draws moisture to itself. Although lye is used in the soap making process, there is NO lye present in the end result. You also cannot make true soap without using lye. The lye does not have the soap harsh, only if your calculations are off can that happen. Here at Labor Of Love, everything is carefully crafted to be nourishing to your body! After the soap is made, it is left to cure for 4-6 weeks. This allows the bars to harden as the liquid content evaporates. This means a longer lasting bar for you!

Our Claims

All of our products are SLS free, paraben free and phthalate free. Our soaps are made with olive oil, coconut oil, raw unrefined shea butter, castor oil and we use a variety of additives such as essential oils, phthalate free fragrance oil, clays, herbs, spices, tussah silk and responsibly sourced micas.

My package arrived damaged, has the wrong products or missing products.

Please contact us via the "Contact Us" page and we will do our best to make things right ASAP!

How long can I wait to use your artisan soaps?

We recommend you use our products within 6 months for the best results, as the colors and fragrances may begin to fade after that amount of time.  However, our soaps will still get you clean long after the color and fragrance have faded.

Do you ship worldwide?

As of right now, we ship within the United States only. We will make an announcement on social media when we are ready to start shipping worldwide.
